STAAR EOC Retesting - Summer 2017

STAAR reports were sent home with students Tuesday, May 23. Students who did not meet the passing standard will be offered retesting the week of June 19-22 at Magnolia West High School. Testing begins at 8:00am. Please contact sbellini@magnoliaisd.org for more information.

Graduation Information

Magnolia High graduation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 27 at Reed Arena in College Station at 3 p.m. The ceremony will be streamed live at tx.ag/kamustream. Attached is a parking map ($5 per car for parking) and Reed Arena's building policies.

BPA National Leadership Conference

Once again, the Business Professionals of America chapter at Magnolia High School has qualified to compete at the BPA National Leadership Conference. This year the conference will be held in Orlando, Florida May 10 through 14. Magnolia High School will be represented by four outstanding students – Logan Bray, Kimberley Duncan, Andrew Nunn, and Jacob Sass.

MHS UIL Academics – State Medalists

The Magnolia High School UIL Academics team was represented by 12 students at the UIL Academic State Meet at UT in Austin on April 21 and 22. These students qualified to compete at this level by placing in the top 6 at the district meet and the top 3 at the region meet. At the state meet, MHS had entries qualifying in these events: Accounting, Computer Science, Feature Writing, Science and Ready Writing.

MHS HOBY Representatives

Congratulations to Caitlin Martinucci and Madeline Demny for being selected as this year’s HOBY representatives for Magnolia High School. HOBY is an organization dedicated to building and equipping the leaders of tomorrow. Martinucci and Demny are both sophomores and were nominated by their teachers for their leadership in the classroom and on MHS campus. They will attend this summer’s HOBY Youth Leadership Conference hosted on the University of Houston campus.

MHS UIL ACADEMICS – REGION 3-5A CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Magnolia High School UIL Academic team won the Region 3-5A Championship at the region meet held April 7 & 8. This is the first time in MHS history that this title has been won. The school has been the region runner-up three times in the past: 2009, 2015 and 2016. This championship title is a huge achievement for the students and coaches and an incredible honor for MAGNOLIA HIGH SCHOOL!!!

Magnolia OAP State Bound!

Magnolia HS One-Act Play Company advanced from the Region Championship with their play Moliere and is now heading to the 5A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP for the 2nd year in a row! Besides advancing, the group also won Best Actor (Jacob Edwards), 2 All-Star Cast Awards (Will Carroll & Ciara Peterson), Honorable Mention Cast Award (Lauren Eddings) and a Top Technician (Sidni Broadus). The State competition will be held Thursday, April 13 at Round Rock ISD Performing Arts Center.
