Community Service

X2VOL

Community service hours are logged and tracked in Family Connections through a program called x2VOL. Once logged into Family Connections students will see the link to x2VOL on the left hand side. Hours can only be logged in while under the student account.

Graduation Cords for Community Service

  • Only hours logged into x2VOL will be counted toward graduation cords.
  • Students receive one cord for having 50+ hours and two cords for 100+ hours.
  • Senior deadline to enter community service hours: April 1st

Things to Know About Community Service

  1. Any community service opportunity that The University Corner is made aware of is sent out via email. Please contact the source, organization or business directly. I get the information to you, but it is your responsibility to contact the source directly and set up your community service
  2. Hours are logged online through Family Connections in x2VOL. You may keep a paper log of the hours, but it is not necessary for MHS to have. (Paper log attached below for your convenience)
  3. Hours must have been completed on/after the first day of 9th grade in order to count and be submitted. Any hours completed before the first day of 9th grade do NOT count towards cords and should not be entered on college applications.
  4. There is no deadline for 9th-11th graders on entering hours, the only deadline is your senior year.
  5. Hours entered will show as pending until The University Corner approves them.
  6. Hours MUST BE applied toward a goal: Community Service Graduation Cord" to be in the final count for graduation cords.
  7. If you have questions about whether a certain event/activity counts as community service please email bkutter@magnoliaisd.org or cbayless@magnoliaisd.org
