The Magnolia I.S.D. NJROTC instructors are excited and highly motivated for another outstanding year.  Your student has chosen the finest program in Magnolia ISD and we are dedicated to developing their character and helping mature them into responsible citizens committed to achievement.  The Navy JROTC program is open to all students.  We are not part of the U.S. Military and your child incurs no obligation to the military no matter how many years he / she completes in the NJROTC program.  Cadets are expected to wear the NJROTC uniform to school one day each week (typically Wednesday for the entire day).  Cadets will be required to participate in all components of the curriculum including: drill, academics and physical fitness training. Extra curricular competitive teams are voluntary and include:  the Armed and Unarmed Drill teams, Color Guard, Orienteering team, Air Rifle team, and  the Physical Fitness and Raider team. All students are expected to maintain a positive attitude and be respectful at all times.  All cadets are also required to wear the Physical Training (PT) uniform on Fridays during their class period only.  Costs: The NJROTC school uniform is provided by the Navy at no cost to parents/guardians. If a cadet loses or destroys a uniform they will be charged the replacement cost. There is an activity fee of $40.00 for first year cadets. This fee includes: physical training (PT) uniform (NJROTC unit t-shirt and shorts), and helps defer costs for field trips. Also, first year cadets receive a white undershirt, black socks and shirt stays to wear with their uniform.
